Welcome to the holy mass companion

Interior of a grand Gothic cathedral with high vaulted ceilings.

"The Holy Mass is the source and summit of the Christian life." — CCC 1324

The Holy Mass is the source and summit of the Christian life, where we worship God and encounter Jesus Christ in His Word and the Holy Eucharist.

Each card below guides you through a different part of the Mass. As you explore, you'll learn the purpose of each part of the liturgy, the prayers and responses, when to stand, sit, or kneel, and the meaning behind the Church's sacred traditions. Whether you are new to the Catholic faith or simply wish to deepen your understanding, this companion is designed to help you participate in the Holy Mass with greater confidence, reverence, and devotion.

A prayer before mass

A Holy Prayer Before Mass

Heavenly Father, prepare my heart to worship You with reverence and love. Open my ears to Your Word, strengthen my faith through the Holy Eucharist, and help me to offer myself more completely to You. May this Holy Mass draw me closer to Jesus Christ and transform me by His grace. Amen.

Why use the companion?

The Holy Mass is rich with Scripture, tradition, and prayer. Understanding what is happening during each part of the liturgy can help us participate with greater attention and devotion. This companion is not meant to replace your participation in the Mass but to support it by providing guidance before, during, or after the liturgy.

Whether you attend daily Mass or only occasionally, my prayer is that this resource helps you encounter Christ more deeply and grow in love for the Holy Eucharist.
